Cute Little Friday Find
It’s not every day you come across something that completely catches you by surprise, but this certainly did just that.
This extremely original, beautifully kept, 102k mile, unique, little 1979 Honda Civic Wagon with a manual on the floor can be found for sale on ebay here and it’s fairly cheap. It could well be the only one for sale in the U.S. in this condition.
Someone better scoop this up before I do.
I want. I so want. I remember almost buying an ‘82 many, many years ago (late ’90s).
Just some untouched (no filters/photoshopping/editing/cropping at all) photos I took a couple days ago of a (1955?) Chevy Bel Air sitting in front of the bar up the street.
Your feedback is welcome in my Ask, or you can look at the full album with crappier pictures if you’re on Google+.
I had to take my 3yo girl along, so I didn’t take too much time getting the right angles and yadda yadda. Well, I had to carry her past the kamikaze Chihuahua fiercely barking as I walked along the sidewalk past its property. (It scared the 7yo and 8yo boys back to the house, bursting into hysterics and tears.) Then, after we came back, I had to walk back up with the boys because You Quiero Berserk was inside his house. Unfortunately I didn’t take the camera along, because I could have gotten a couple more angles of the hood ornament.
When the kids and I got back home, I tried to go up again with the camera, (this time in the van because I was on another errand, but by that time the California car was gone. [sigh]

Saab 900s with 207,000 miles.
I’ve only had this car since November and enjoy driving it, but can’t afford to keep a second car.
• 2.3 liter 4 cylinder
• 5 speed stick shift manual
• Sony CD/AM/FM
• cruise control
• power everything (windows, locks, steering, brakes)
• sunroof
• SID (Saab Information Display) shows outdoor temperature, gas mileage, and miles left on tank.
• About 25 miles per gallon mixed city/highway.
Recently Fixed
• heater core
• thermostat
• head gasket
• holes in exhaust welded shut
Needs
• clutch or somethng needs adjustments or parts, but it still drives as is
• parking brake does not work
• pair of tires - fronts are balding, backs are great
• passenger back window won’t go down - may just be a broken clip
• door locks don’t like cold weather, become tough to turn (maybe just needs WD40 - haven’t done this yet)
• new antenna (if you care about that)
• I don’t know that A/C works; haven’t used it yet.
• Front passenger headlight needs a part to hold it in correct alignment - shines a touch high.
• SID display is faded on left side, but readable. There are instructions online to use a soldering iron to fix this fading.
The oil light flashes on and off after extensive driving, but fuel and oil systems check by certified mechanic found nothing wrong. A previous owner also removed all Saab logos from the car and gave it a really bad paint job, including some on the windows! Plastics in the climate control unit knobs are fragile and breaking, but it still works. Exhaust smoke seems to blow into car when certain windows are open. Otherwise very light rust and the car runs quite strong, moves quickly, and handles great.
I’m seeking $900 or your best offer.
